Answer
When renaming the file htaccess.txt to .htaccess through the Windows explorer you get an error.
The traditional method for replacement is through the MS DOS command prompt.
But there is an easier alternative.
Rename the htaccess file with FileZilla
Another method is to use FileZilla like a file explorer to rename the file htaccess.txt to .htaccess.
In the left side "Local Site" browse the local directory of your website.
The window below displayed the files or folders contained in the directory selected. Once the htaccess.txt file located then right click and select rename perform the renaming into .htaccess and you've done.
